Chelsea and Liverpool among top Premier League clubs set to move for £20m-rated Genk star Leon Bailey
CHELSEA and Liverpool are among a group of Premier League clubs interested in Genk’s Leon Bailey.
The £20milllion-rated winger was expected to wait until the end of the season to leave the Belgian club.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Bayer Leverkusen and Roma have both intimated that they’d pay the £20m needed to sign Bailey this month.
Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Bournemouth are all reportedly keen on Bailey, 19, but were willing to wait until the summer to start bidding.
But they will make a move for Bailey in January to ensure they do not miss out to a top European club, with Lyon and Nice also both said to be keen on the jamaican.
Genk want to keep hold of Bailey but would find it difficult to turn down a big money offer from one of Europe’s elite.
The player also made it clear, is desire to play in the Premier League:
Bailey said: “I’ve always dreamt of the Premier League.
“But if, let’s say, Man United can’t guarantee me minutes, I will stay at Genk.
“The important thing is that in the near future there a lot of games to come.
“This is essential for me because I have to take more steps. I’ve already made a lot of progress.”
Bailey has scored six time in 24 appearances so far this season.
